Transition Tips from EI to Special Needs Preschool

As children participating in Part C/Early Intervention programs approach the age of 2.5 years, the transition process begins, often leading to nervousness and confusion. This clear, approachable, 1-hour course provides therapists with background information on laws, timelines, and procedures regarding the transition process. But, more importantly, it gives many ideas and resources to help guide families and children through this sometimes overwhelming change.

Learning Outcomes

  1. State the difference between family-focused and child-focused service delivery models, and how the difference occurs during transition.
  2. List three supports or resources that practitioners can provide parents in planning for upcoming changes.
