Sensational Babies: Meeting sensory needs in early intervention
Sensory Processing Disorder and Autism are being recognized earlier in development than ever before. Early Intervention professionals are being called on to meet the sensory needs of these little ones and to help their parents deal with the developmental issues that arise. This 2-hour webinar discusses sensory modulation difficulties, which frequently impact sleep; self-soothing; feeding; social interaction; and fine and gross motor skill development.
- Recognize signs and symptoms of sensory processing issues in babies and toddlers.
- Understand assessment options for identification of sensory issues in the birth to three population.
- Identify the benefits of using visual support systems in meeting the sensory needs of young children.
- Select activities to support babies and toddlers in their daily routines based on their sensory needs.
- Identify strategies to support issues with sleep, feeding, bathing, dressing, social interactions, play and motor skill development.

Course Instructor: Gwen Wild, MOT, OTR/L, is an experienced occupational therapist specializing in the treatment of children and adolescents diagnosed with autism and sensory processing disorders. Post-Test: Before receiving a certificate, learners must take an objective post-test to demonstrate they acquired the learning outcomes. An attestation statement is included indicating the learner viewed the entire course and completed the post-test independently. A passing grade is ≥ 70%.
